Buying a horse? Find out if this is the RIGHT horse for you, before you buy. An independent evaluation helps protect the years of money, energy, and heart you are about to invest.

I work for you, the buyer, not the seller. Trainers and vendors are usually paid by the seller, but in this case, my fee comes from you, so my only goal is to help you find the horse that truly fits your objectives, temperament, intended use, and level of experience. Before you commit years of time and money to the horse you fell in love with, you will know what issues, challenges, or mismatches may be waiting for you.

Too many buyers choose a horse on looks or price alone, then discover the match doesn’t work. If you have been there, you know how frustrating and expensive it can be, and some owners give up horses altogether. The horse pays the price too, with his happiness, his care, and sometimes his home.

This is where I come in. Before you buy, I evaluate the horse you are considering and provide you with an honest, independent profile to help you decide.

How it works

1. We define your ideal match. Together, we look at your needs, objectives, intended activities, experience level, preferences, physical requirements, and budget.
2. I assess the horse. I go with you to see the horse in person when distance allows, or evaluate videos of the horse on the ground and ridden.
3. You decide, with a detailed report in hand. I flag any show-stopping issues and share my recommendations, but you remain in the driver’s seat and the final decision is always yours.

You get more than a second opinion. My evaluation draws on over 50 years with horses as a competitor, breeder, trainer, and coach, and on my certification with Equestrian Canada. I look at the horse in mind and body, and tell you plainly whether this partnership can work.
